Today we noticed that there was tunnels dug all round our ecosystem. Turns out the mouse had dug a series of tunnels each connecting to the other. The Salamander is nowhere to be seen, burrowed beneath the dirt. We also put a worm inside the bio-bubble the help with the decomposing of dead organisms. We a timer on the light hanging above the ecosystem so that it would come off and on at certain times because photosynthesis has a light and dark cycle. It also seems that either the water from the pond is evaporating or it is being drank. We planted more beans today, so that hopefully we will get more producers growing.

Today the temperature of our bio-dome was around 72 degrees Fahrenheit. We also observed water being evaporated from the little pond and from the bark. It started condensation on the roof of the bio-dome. This is part of the ecosystem's water cycle. We noticed that the Salamander had burrowed further down so that we could not find him easily. We also noticed that one of the grasshoppers was missing a leg. We came to the conclusion that it may have been torn off in his battle to not be eaten. We experimented with the Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen censors today as well. Making sure they work properly. We plan to be soon graphing the data we collect from these as well as

Today, we took one of our fire-bellied toads out of the ecosystem because we went ahead with the mouse idea. So we now have Stitch the Salamander, Lilo the Toad, and Nani the Albino Mouse. We also dumped lots of crickets into the ecosystem. We observed that the Salamander had mysteriously disappeared, we later found him in a hole he had dug. We also placed another Betta Fish in the pond we have hoping this one doesn't jump out. We sprayed down the inside with water and placed a thermometer strip on the bio-bubble. The thermometer told us that it was around 23 degrees inside.

Today, we decided against placing two mice into the bio-bubble and instead we placed to fire-bellied toads inside the bio-bubble. We also got to place our Salamander inside the bio-bubble today as well. We observed that now that we had some form of producer inside the ecosystem that none of our grasshoppers had died. For some reason though, everyone's Betta Fishes, in every habitat that had one, jumped out of the water and died. We have a little tunnel type thing made out of bark for the insects to climb and for the frogs and salamanders to hide under. We also spray the inside down with water everyday hoping to get our water levels just right inside the ecosystem.

Day 5

Today, we received our Betta Fish and we put it inside the Bio-bubble. We observed that most of our grasshoppers had died probably due to the lack of food. So we also transplanted some spider plants and some other unknown type of plant. Then we went out and caught a couple more grasshoppers, burying the dead ones so that nutrients will be released into the soil inside our ecosystem. We sprayed down the inside making sure everything was nice and damp. In a couple of days we will receive our salamander to put in the bio-bubble.

Today we filled our bio-bubble up with more dirt, and then we planted seeds. Some of the things we planted were lettuce, lima beans, radishes, peas, and many more seeds. We also gathered more insects today, making our population of Pill bugs and grasshoppers increase. We also added bark and mulch into the bio-bubble.

Today, we gathered dirt, mulch, rocks, and a few insects. We have started to put our things into the bio-bubble and it is coming along very nicely. We added rocks to the very bottom and dirt on top of that. Tomorrow we plan to add more dirt and maybe put some insects and bark in the bio-bubble.

Today, we began to plan out our ecosystem. We drew and discussed what we wanted it to look like on the inside. We also decided that not only do we want one mouse but that we wanted two. A male and a female, so that they may reproduce to have Mice Babies!.

Today we spent our time planning out our ecosystem. We decided to make a woodland ecosystem. We plan to have a mouse and a salamander with many different species of bugs. We also plan to put a little pond inside our bio-dome. We also plan to have a heat lamp represent the sun.
